Betty White Approves Of Gay Marriage

Last remaining Golden Girl Betty White who was recently on the cover of Parade Magazine, stood fast in her defense of same sex marriage. Ms. White, who is now 88 years old,  is most loved for her role as scatterbrain and albeit lovable Rose Nylund in NBC’s “The Golden Girls”. She is however, also widely remembered  for her role as Sue Ann Nivens on the much loved sitcom “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” of the 1970's.  In her interview the seven time Emmy Award winning octogenarian, emphatically stated her opinion on same sex marriage:
I don't care who anybody sleeps with. If a couple has been together all that time, and there are gay relationships that are more solid than some heterosexual ones,  I think it's fine if they want to get married. I don't know how people can get so anti-something. Mind your own business, take care of your affairs, and don't worry about other people so much.
It is heartwarming to see that even a lady of Ms. White’s generation has not let old and antiquated prejudices water down her innate human decency and fairness. If an 88 year old can stand for the equal rights and liberties of others, what excuse does anyone else have? Ms, White who is enjoying an upswing in her career, became the oldest person to host “Saturday Night Live” in 2010 of this year. An appearance which garnered her 7th Emmy Award for “Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series”.

Ms. White, who has always been loved as a gay icon among the LGBT since her portrayal of Rose Nylund, also stated:
Gay’s love old ladies
Yes, we do, one in particular, for her love and support. May she continue to have many more golden years!
